If you need a pep talk today...
The other day there was an email sitting in my work inbox that read “I don’t know why I’m even doing this. I’m not going to make it past the first half of this year.”
A bit concerned, I called the counselor to let her know what was going on, because the person I was working with had a history of severe depression in the past.
For my day job, I get to wear multiple hats. And in this particular case, my job was to help my client find a job. As easy as that. Except it wasn’t easy.
Perhaps today you got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and nothing seems right. Perhaps you’ve been getting up on the wrong side of the bed for a while, and no matter how much you push, nothing seems to move forward.
I wish I had the answers to your problems, but this I can tell you: this is temporary. It may seem like an eternity where nothing ever changes. I am certain of very little in my life, but I can assure you this: it will pass.
The job will come. Your grief will eventually be more bearable. The fog will go away. You will find her.
There’s this quote by Rumi that really speaks to me in times of despair:
“What you seek is seeking you”
The healing. The job. The relationship. God.
They are all seeking you.
Just. keep. going.
